About Russafa / Ruzafa

Once a working-class quarter south of the old town, Russafa has become Valencia's creative and culinary capital. Colourful façades line streets packed with brunch spots, coffee roasters, galleries and over a hundred bars, all orbiting the century-old Mercado de Ruzafa and the towering Iglesia de San Valero. It's a flat, supremely walkable and cycle-friendly neighbourhood beloved by digital nomads and young professionals, with coworking spaces and international restaurants on every block. The flip side of its popularity is rising rents, smaller apartments and weekend noise, but for buyers betting on Valencia's expat momentum, Russafa is the bellwether barrio.
