Once the 'Catalan Manchester' of textile mills, Poblenou is now the 22@ innovation district, where converted factories house startups, design studios and the landmark Torre Glòries. Life centres on the Rambla del Poblenou, a tree-lined pedestrian boulevard of cafés and historic restaurants like Els Pescadors, with the Bogatell and Mar Bella beaches just east.
